Infection is a major medical problem that faces increasing challenges by antibiotic resistance. This results in an increased danger for patients and higher treatment costs.

The invention introduces a mechanism of using nanoparticles (inorganic composition) which have the ability to destroy bacteria for an extended period of time (biocide character). This can be an alternative solution especially for infections that requires longterm treatment combined with medical surgical intervention.

Distinctive elements:

  • Nanoparticles antimicrobials are much faster to be synthesized than antibiotics.
  • Significantly higher efficacy against a wide range of bacteria.
  • In case of Osteomyelitis, the method shows great efficacy against bacterial homing inside bone cells without causing harm to the bone cells.
