Takamul takes part at the Expo-Sciences International 2013
Abu Dhabi, 18th September 2013 -Takamul, an initiative developed and operated by the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee (TDC) to support local inventors, took part in this year’s Expo-Sciences International to introduce new audiences to the basics of Intellectual Property (IP) and its importance in the innovation community.
Whilst many people are aware of the term IP, there is still confusion of its different concepts and the basics of how it works. TDC’s Takamul team directly addressed these issues through a series of interactive seminars open to all.
Enrico Villa, Director - Enterprise Development and Innovation, TDC commented, “The Expo- Sciences has proven to be a great platform to meet with young inventors, students, educators and scientists from all around the world. Our Takamul program has already helped more than 30 local inventors begin their journey of realizing their inventions and over the next few years we envisage these numbers increasing exponentially. Understanding IP and its role in the product lifecycle is an extremely important step for inventors.”
The IP seminars presented the mechanics of IP protection, covering subjects such as copyright, trademarks, designs, trade secrets and including particular focus on patents.
